ARIF - Arif Esmail – BSc (Hons), MRPharmS(Ipresc), Dip Comm Pharm.

I qualified as a pharmacist in 1986 and worked as a locum pharmacist for the first two years during which I worked in over 100 different pharmacies up and down the country. I then took up managerial posts for two pharmacy chains in Milton Keynes, before establishing Roade Pharmacy, Northampton in 1992, followed by Wootton Pharmacy in 1996. Strong performance from both these pharmacies led to the parent company (Arif Esmail & Company Limited) appearing in the 2008 edition of “Who’s Who of Britain’s Business Elite” – a very proud achievement and one which we feel reflects our ethos of striving for excellence in everything that we do, for the benefit of all our patients.

RAJ - Ranjit Sangha – MRPharmS(IPresc), Dip Comm Pharm. DipTHP. MNCH(lic).

After qualifying as a pharmacist is 1995, I started a one year pre-registration post at Boots the Chemist. Upon successfully completing my pre-registration, I decided to locum for a year. It was my locum work that brought me to Wootton Pharmacy, where in September 1997, I accepted the post of pharmacy manager.

My time at Wootton Pharmacy has been very enjoyable and rewarding. I have been in my post for over a decade, which has given me a great opportunity to get to know the local community and our patients. I purposely use the word “patients” throughout this website as opposed to “customers” because, to me, patient care is very important – “you are more than just a customer to me.”

In my quest to ensure that I am always able to deliver the best advice to my patients I have undertaken a number of additional courses. The letters after my name do have a meaning behind them:

  -   MRPharmS: Is a title that all UK pharmacists have – It means that I am a
registered member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

  -   (IPresc): Designates that I am an independent pharmacist prescriber. It basically
means that I can write prescriptions working within the NHS setting, a bit like nurses
in the community where they run clinics or work along side doctors. My special
interest within prescribing is COPD and Asthma.

-   Dip Comm Pharm: Designates that I have completed a Diploma in Community
Pharmacy. This course has provided me with a broad view of the issues relevant to
pharmacy practice and medicines management in community. It has equipped me
with the clinical and professional knowledge base and skills necessary to fulfill and
extend my role in primary care.

  1. DipTHP. MNCH(lic): Designates that I am a qualified hypnotherapist and a

member of the National Council For Hypnotherapy. To find out more about
hypnosis and hypnotherapy please click on the [Other Services] section of this
      website.

I currently work at Wootton Pharmacy on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. My time is essentially spent working in the pharmacy, working with doctors, visiting patients in their home, and visiting other professionals. I am always approachable and happy to talk to patients. If you would like to discuss anything related to pharmacy, this website, or how we at Wootton Pharmacy can make your life easier or even improve your quality of life, then please feel free to telephone or email me – details available in the [Contact Us] section of this website. Alternatively please call into the pharmacy to have a chat. I look forward to meeting you.
